After decades as a resident of the world, Shona Hammond Boys, distinguished artist, educationalist and humanitarian has found a small corner of the Eastern Bay of Plenty to call home.

Shona has established Lavender House, a working space and gallery in Opotiki and welcomes visitors by appointment.

Her current work concentrates on ancestral portraiture and landscapes in oils and watercolours.  The examples on this page are from a series commissioned by the QE II Arts Council in 1990 which toured 40 marae nationwide.

In 2003 Shona Hammond Boys was awarded the Queens Service Medal for her exceptional contribution to the arts and children.
