When he is not working as a photojournalist for the “Whakatane Beacon,” or capturing wedding images on the Bride & Grooms special day, Troy Baker spends his spare time taking photos! “I love the creativity of taking photos, the challenge to capture the perfect image, and the satisfaction I get from other peoples reactions to them.”

Although largely self-taught Baker has studied briefly under world renowned Canadian photographer Freeman Patterson, an experience he describes as inspirational. “I learned to see that even the small things you would normally walk past can make great photographic subjects. Inspiration is everywhere!”

Baker has spent almost all his life in the Bay of Plenty and never goes anywhere without his camera. He is available for commission work or you can purchase any of the images on this webpage by arrangement.
